The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Every child is born in a state of fitrah (natural state), but his parents make him Jewish, Christian, or Magian.' This noble hadith emphasizes the crucial role of parents in shaping their children's personality and guiding them toward the straight path.

In our current era, Muslim families face great challenges in raising their children, due to technological development and exposure to different cultures. Therefore, it is very important that Muslim parents have a clear and studied methodology for raising their children on correct Islamic foundations.

Good Example: The First Foundation in Education

Children learn through observation and imitation more than learning through words and advice. Therefore, the first and most important foundation in education is for parents to be a good example for their children in all aspects of life. If parents want their children to be honest, they must be honest first.

Good example includes all aspects of life: worship, morals, dealing with others, and even the way of speaking and behaving at home. A child who sees his parents praying regularly and reading the Quran will automatically learn the importance of these acts of worship without the need for forcing or insistence.

Also, seeing the child's parents dealing with each other with love and respect, and solving their problems through calm dialogue, teaches him the correct way to deal with others and solve problems in the future.

Teaching Quran and Sunnah in a Loving Way

Teaching the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah to children should be in a loving and attractive way, not in a coercive way that alienates them from religion. Quranic stories and tales from the Prophet's biography can be used to teach children Islamic values and morals.

It is important to connect Islamic teachings with the child's practical life. For example, when teaching him the verse about generosity, it can be applied practically by sharing food with others or giving charity. This makes learning more effective and firmly rooted in the child's mind.

Educational games and various activities can also be used to make learning religion a pleasure and not a heavy duty. A child who learns his religion with love and joy will maintain it throughout his life.

Conclusion

Raising children in a Muslim home is a great responsibility and heavy trust, but at the same time it is a great honor and blessing from Allah Almighty. Children who are raised on correct Islamic foundations will, God willing, be righteous and reforming individuals in society.

We pray to Allah Almighty to help all Muslim fathers and mothers in raising their children with correct Islamic upbringing, and to make our children a source of joy for us in this world and the hereafter.
